Christmas in Suffugium

Filed under: Suffugium — Binne @ 4:54 pm

Hey, folks. ’tis the season, and Lex and I are working on procuring a gigantic holiday tree for the center square of the city and we will need help decorating it. We think that a great way to do this is so ask you, the refugees, citizens and fans of Suffugium to submit to me, Binne Ming, ornaments that you’ve made that mean something to you for us to put on there. You don’t have to celebrate ANY holidays to submit one, and we encourage you to instead give us ornaments that mean “You” rather than “some holiday.” You’re all a bunch of brilliant, creative people, so I hope to see some wonderful submissions. :)

We were on TV!

Filed under: Suffugium — lex @ 11:08 pm

Holy crap, folks! Suffugium was on TV! Millions of CSI fans just saw a brief glimpse of our baby!

It’s part of CBS’s CSI:NY/Second Life cross-reality plot that just started today. There’s a scene where they’re chasing a blue fox through SL, and there’s almost four seconds wort of scenes in Suffugium. We’re famous! Sorta!

Update: here’re some screenshots from the show:

THAT’S MY BABY!!!

prolecars gone wild!

Coming soon to the suffugium red-light district: ProleCars Gone Wild 9: Car-Wreck Craziness!

prolecars_gone_wild.jpg

This was spotted by Quantum Widget in the Preview Grid. Apparently ProleCar scripts (and drone scripts) are only managing to get to run once every second or two, so they’re constantly missing their targets, doubling back, looping around, and interpenetrating things and freezing up, like in the photo. Police drones spot you, and then go winging off into outer-space, only to over-correct and go plummeting through the ground into the sim-floor. Pretty amusing, all told. I emailed Milo Linden.

We’re very excited to have booked Jaycatt Nico and Frogg Marlowe for a live, in-world music performance at the Moonrise Cabaret in Suffugium! As part of the grid-wide SL third birthday celebration, Jaycatt and Frogg will be performing a two-hour concert in Suffugium. Jaycatt and Frogg are two well-known in-world performers on the cutting edge of live streaming performance in SL. Jaycatt will be playing piano, while Frogg will be on acoustic guitar.

It should be an incredibly exciting night, and a study in how many avatars we can pack into Suffugium. The date is not quite firm, but more details will be available soon.

Moonrise Cabaret

Update: The schedule is firm!  The show will be from 6-8pm in the Cabaret in Suffugium, with a couple of sim tours hourly before, and one tour after.

The Trenchmouth and Ming Players present… Binne Gitcher Prim!

It is still early on in rehearsals, but we expect really big things from this traditional musical. Binne and Stella (pictured below practicing their duet ‘Where Have all the Prim Hairs Gone’) are excited and think that the show is being magnificently handled by BouncerBot 5000, who was the obvious choice for director.
